The following maintenance information is considered general procedures for some Toyota Corolla automobiles. Refer to the repair manual for exact year and model maintenance intervals and tasks to perform.

Following maintenance requirements is mandatory. Some inspection and maintenance work should be performed daily, monthly or yearly. In some instances, special tools may be required. If the maintenance job is considered difficult to the owner, have a certified mechanic perform the repair work.


Keep notes of all maintenance performed and dates serviced. Noting the milage or time (months) elapsed helps unnecessary maintenance work as some parts need not be serviced regularly. 



  1. Inspect tire pressure and adjust if needed.
  2. Inspect tire surface for excessive wear, cuts or damage 

Wheel Nuts

  1. Inspect for missing lug nuts or looseness. Tighten if needed. 

Tire Rotation

  1. Inspect the tires and determine if tires need to be rotated. 

Windshield Wiper Blades

  1. Check wiper blades for cracks or excessive wear. Replace if needed. 

Fluid Leaks

  1. Inspect under the Toyota Corolla car for signs of water leaks, leaking fuel or other fluids. 

Engine hood and Doors

  1. Inspect all doors for smooth operation, and that all door latches securely lock.
  2. Check that the engine hood second latch prevents the engine hood from opening  fully when the primary latch is triggered.  

Windshield Wiper Fluid 

  1. Make sure washer fluid tank is at full level mark. 

Engine Coolant Level

  1. On the see-through reservoir, make sure the engine coolant is between “LOW” and “FULL.” 

Hoses and Radiators

  1. Check front radiator for debris, bugs or leaves, clean if necessary.
  2. I nspect hoses for loose connections, cracks, rotting or blockage. 

Battery Electrolyte Level

  1. Inspect the batter electrolyte level for the battery cells. The fluid level should be between the lower and upper case lines.  

Brake Fluid Level

  1. Inspect brake fluid on the see-through tank, fluid should be near the upper level mark. 

Engine Drive Belt

  1. Inspect drive belt for excessive wear, oil deposits, fraying or cracks. 

Exhaust System

  1. Check exhaust system for exhaust leaks, unusual fumes or sounds. Locate the cause and remedy the problem.  


  1. Inspect headlights , taillights, license tag illuminating lights, blinders and turn signals. Check for brightness.  

Warning Buzzers and Lights

  1. Inspect all warning buzzers and check engine lights are working properly.  


  1. Test car horn to ensure its working properly.
